Esperanza High School Athletes Were Inspired by C11 Workshop

Thrive in Joy was invited to engage all 122 student athletes at Esperanza High School in a C11 workshop.  Esperanza High Club Thrive in Joy student leads, Jasmine and Stephanie, helped facilitate the workshops during which students identified people that inspire them. Students then reflected on which of the 11 character strengths they most connect with as teammates, friends, family, and leaders.  Finally, students reflected on which aspect of their character they most want to strengthen. A video about Nick Fagnano is included in the workshop to help students recognize that their ability to inspire others is in the present. In a post-workshop survey, 70% of the students completely agreed with the statement “This workshop strengthened my understanding of the meaning of character.” Additionally, in the comments students stated “I loved it!” It was great!” and “Thank you for your time. I loved it!”
