Mary Fagnano Receives LA Civic Leadership Impact Award Nomination

On October 5th, LA Works hosted their LA Civic Leadership and Impact Awards. Our Executive Director, Mary Fagnano, was one of six finalists to be recognized in the Health and Empowerment Leadership Award category.

This marks the first time a service organization has recognized the impact of Thrive in Joy on the lives of Los Angeles high school students from low income communities. Actress, singer, director, and Broadway veteran Hattie Winston gave a heartfelt recognition from the podium which reached the ears of all 200+ attendees at the luncheon.  For many, it was the first time they were hearing about The Thrive in Joy Nick Fagnano Foundation.

Hattie Winston shares Thrive in Joy’s story and Nick’s legacy with over 200 attendees
